A Bad Rap

Discovering love is sometimes as simple as spreading a good word. Two types of news travel fast: 1) "Ripley's Believe It or Not" type news and 2) Bad news. Many young minority children get a bad rap. Not Stephen Stafford

"We must, as a community, applaud and uphold this young man. We must cheer for him as if he averages 40 points a game. We should converse about his achievements as if he had released a platinum hip-hop album. He should get the same respect as every linebacker, point guard or hip-hop artist in America." by Boyce Watkins, Ph.D.

The Galagogo Goal: Discover love by sharing Stephen Stafford's Story.(Click Here) Pretend it's an Oprah free chicken giveaway and text, twit, tweet, flicker, or facebook it to every person you know and think you may know.

A New Attitude

There are a number of reasons why a person would change their name. Read the "Top 10 Reasons People Change Their Names." Whether it is for legal, religious, or confidence issues, changing your name takes a lot of thought and consideration. Many individuals research the meaning of various names, play with the vocalization of possible names while focusing on their image, and ask those closest to them for feedback on the name/s they anticipate adopting.

My cousin changed her name for "spiritual" not religious reasons. My son's father changed his name to disconnect from his past of abuse by his father, "wink" or as he says. I can't say I was very accepting of either of their actions, though I should have been because it was their choice. I personally love my birth name and would feel that I rejected my parents if I were to change it. But guess what people, I am changing my name to Sister A'isha! (LOL, not legally!)

The Galagogo Goal: Change your name. Just ask yourself what name would best suit you with its meaning and vocal rhythm. Ask those closest to you what name would they believe would suit you as an alias or avatar name. When you choose your avatar name walk in that new attitude!

1000 Dreams Stirring

My blog seed was planted more than seven years ago when an ex-coworker had given me a little piece of advice to change my life. She told me to write down one hundred things I wanted to do before I left this life. I thought it was strange and initially didn't think there were a hundred things I wanted to achieve. However, my list quickly grew into more than a thousand dreams still stirring in my spirit.

The Galagogo Goal: Make a "My Little Inspirations List" by writing as many things as you would like to achieve or do no matter how big, small, imaginative, or just out right crazy. Tell me if your list reached more than 10, 100, 1000, or even 10,000. Warning, you may get lost so set a timer with a buzzer.

100% Responsibility

"Take 100% Responsibility for Your Life," is the first chapter in Jack Canfield's book The Success Principles. I took special heed in reading this chapter when my client and good friend Jayne mentioned that as a personal assistant it is priority that I am able to manage my own affairs effectively before being successful in managing the affairs of others.

The Galagogo Goal: Take inventory of all the things you need to pay special attention to in your life and those areas of your life that you would like to improve. It may take a little insight from those closest to you, but open your self up to constructive criticism. Its all about rising above, not getting beat down. Be sure to post your feedback to get a letter grade!
